Olmara team and mission

Care built on respect, presence, and trust

We started Olmara because we noticed a gap between what families needed and what the market offered. This is our story.

How Olmara came to be

Olmara was founded in New Taipei City after a period of reflection on how the region's elderly population was being served. Many families we spoke with described the same experience: they wanted professional, attentive support for their ageing parents, but found that the options available either felt too clinical or lacked the consistency that genuine care requires.

We began in 2019 with a small team of trained caregivers and one guiding principle — that a senior's home should remain a place of comfort and familiarity, not a reminder of diminishing independence. Professional assistance should feel unobtrusive and warm, not institutional.

In the years since, we have grown carefully and deliberately, prioritising the quality of each caregiver placement over rapid expansion. Our clients in Yonghe District and the wider New Taipei area have come to trust us not because we promised exceptional outcomes, but because we showed up, listened, and kept our commitments quietly and consistently.

Today, Olmara operates with a close-knit team of coordinators and caregivers who share a genuine interest in the lives of the seniors they work with. We remain a locally-rooted organisation, connected to the rhythms and values of Taiwanese family life.

What drives us each day

To help every senior client experience the later years of life with as much comfort, agency, and connection as possible — in the place they call home.

  • Dignity above all
Every person in our care is treated with full respect for their history, preferences, and personhood.
  • Consistency builds trust
We show up reliably, communicate clearly, and follow through on what we say we'll do.
  • Families stay informed
We keep families close to what's happening, even when they cannot be there physically.

How we maintain quality care

Every aspect of how we work is shaped by a commitment to safe, consistent, and person-centred service.

Verified Caregiver Credentials

All caregivers hold relevant care certifications and undergo background checks before any client placement. Credential records are maintained and reviewed annually.

Structured Onboarding

New caregivers complete a multi-day orientation covering personal hygiene assistance, mobility support, communication with seniors, and emergency response procedures.

Privacy & Confidentiality

All caregivers sign comprehensive non-disclosure agreements. Client health information, household details, and family matters are treated with strict professional discretion.

Regular Care Plan Reviews

We hold scheduled consultations with families to review how the care arrangement is working and adapt the plan as the senior's needs evolve over time.

Ongoing Professional Development

Caregivers participate in regular knowledge-sharing sessions and skills refreshers, keeping their practice current and grounded in respectful, informed care approaches.

Clear Incident Reporting

Any health concerns, incidents, or significant changes observed during a visit are documented and communicated to the family and, where appropriate, to medical contacts promptly.

Professional care rooted in local knowledge

In-home elderly care in Taiwan requires more than a set of practical skills. It demands sensitivity to family dynamics, an understanding of intergenerational expectations, and the ability to build rapport with seniors who may be cautious about accepting outside support in their private space.

At Olmara, our team draws on years of practical experience working within Taiwanese households. We understand the importance of mealtimes, the role of daily rituals in a senior's sense of stability, and the significance of maintaining the familiar features of home life as much as possible.

Our coordinators speak with families in straightforward, honest terms — not with sales language or inflated promises. When a family contacts us, we begin by listening. The right care arrangement only becomes clear once we understand the particular person at the centre of it.

A considered way of working

Many care providers treat matching as an administrative step. We treat it as the foundation of a successful arrangement. A caregiver who understands a senior's preferences, respects their pace, and earns their trust gradually will provide substantially better care than one who is simply technically qualified.

We deliberately keep our caregiver-to-coordinator ratios manageable so that each placement receives genuine attention rather than being processed in bulk. When a concern arises, families speak to someone who already knows the situation — not a general enquiry line.

Our experience in Yonghe District and the surrounding New Taipei region gives us practical familiarity with local health infrastructure, transportation options for accompanying seniors to appointments, and neighbourhood resources that can support a more connected, active daily life for the people in our care.
